David was an amazing athlete who spent 22 seasons in professional hockey, 18 in the NHL and 4 with the World Hockey Association. Keon graduated from college to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1960-61 and won the Calder memorial trophy for best rookie. In the ensuing years Keon earned the Lady Byng Trophy twice and the Conn Smythe Trophy for Most Valuable Playoff Player in 1967. Keon was a member of 4 Stanley Cup teams including three in a row starting in 1962. After 15 seasons in the NHL, Keon went to the WHA in 1975 and played for Minnesota, Indianapolis and New England before returning to the NHL to play for the Hartford Whalers.
