The name Mike Bossy is synonymous with the art of goal scoring. Bossy spent his entire career with the New York Islanders and was their first round choice and the 15th overall player chosen in 1977 NHL entry draft. He didn't disappoint and the Islanders and went on to score 53 goals in his first year, earning him the Calder Trophy for Rookie of the year. in 1981 Mike scored 50 goals in 50 games being the first player since Rocket Richard. He scored 50 more goals in his first 9 seasons as an integral part of the Islanders four Stanley Cup Championships. Mike won the Conn Smythe trophy in 1982 as MVP of the playoffs and also won the Lady Byng Trophy 3 times. He was a five time first team All-Star and three time second team All-Star. In 1987 a chronic back ailment forced Mike into early retirement at the age of 30.
