Elevate your hockey memorabilia collection with the Conn Smythe Collectors Card Print!

Conn Smythe is remembered most as the man who built the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he was also a talented coach and leader in his field. His hockey career began in 1915 as captain of the University of Toronto Varsity Team when they won the Ontario Hockey Association Championship. He then coached the Varsity Seniors to the 1927 Allen Cup and the Varsity Grads to the 1928 Olympic title. Later that year, he took control of the New York Rangers but was released almost immediately. Not one to be denied, Smythe came home to Toronto, purchased the Toronto St. Pats, changed the name to the Maple Leafs and began construction on Maple Leaf Gardens. He eventually became managing director and president of the Gardens, retiring in 1961 after his club tallied seven Stanley Cup Championships. Smythe's final project was to personally supervise the construction of the Hockey Hall of Fame. The sport of hockey would not be what it is today without the work and contributions of Conn Smythe. Today we have only to look at Maple Leaf Gardens, the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Smythe Division of the NHL and the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the most valuable player for his team in the playoffs, to feel the legacy of this great man.

Celebrate Smythe's career with a print of his HHOF collector card! The 12” x 16” poster is printed on a textured archival paper and comes in a cardboard tube, making it easily transportable. The piece is perfect as a solo item, or to fill an empty frame.
