Ted Lindsay, a fiercely competitive player, was referred to as "Terrible Ted during his playing days. His feisty, hustling style during 17 NHL seasons made him a participant on four Stanley Cup Championship teams. The majority of his career was spent with the Detroit Red Wing organization. Ted played as a member of the famous "Production Line" which consisted of himself, Gordie Howe and Sid Abel, that led Detroit to seven consecutive league titles from 1948 to 1955. In 1964, after a four year retirement, Ted rejoined the Red Wings and was a key contributor to their regular season championship that year. A nine time All-Star, Lindsay also served as general manager for the Red Wing organization briefly in the late 1970's. Off the ice, Ted has been one of the most significant contributors to the formation of the NHL Players Association.
