Henrik Lundqvist set the standard for excellence by a European goaltender in the NHL as a seventh-round selection of the New York Rangers. Playing 15 season in New York, Lundqvist set franchise records with 459 wins, sixth all-time in league history, 64 shutouts and 61 playoff victories while becoming the first netminder in NHL history to win at least 20 games in 13 consecutive seasons. Twice named an NHL All-Star, Lundqvist was a five-time finalist for the Vezina Trophy and won the award in 2012. He led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Final in 2014 as well as Sweden to Olympic gold in 2006 and a world title in 2017.
