A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Ken Hitchcock had an instant impact as coach of the Kamloops Blazers in the WHL, making two appearances at the Memorial Cup, while being named WHL Coach of the Year twice. Joining the NHL in 1991, he was named head coach of the Dallas Stars in 1995 and led them to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals in 1999 and 2000, winning a Stanley Cup title in 1999. Hitchcock was named recipient of the Jack Adams Award in 2012 with the St. Louis Blues and retired after 22 seasons and 1,598 games coached as the fourth winningest head coach in NHL history with 849 victories.
