Selected fourth overall by the New York Islanders in 1997, Roberto Luongo became the highest selected goalie in the NHL Entry Draft and went on to play 19 season, primarily split between Florida and Vancouver. Named an NHL 2nd Team All-Star in both 2004 and 2007, he was the Canucks team captain in 2008, becoming the first goaltender to captain an NHL team since 1948. The 2011 recipient of the Jennings Trophy retired third among all goaltenders with 489 career wins. Representing his country, Luongo helped lead Canada to a World Cup of Hockey, World Championship and Olympic gold medals.
This black & white acrylic plaque features a hand-drawn photo of Luongo and background history in both English and French. Four chrome-plated pins add both style and function, holding the piece up to display on a table-top. The piece comes in a protective presentation box to minimize breakage and increase the lifespan of your product.
